We’ve Always Been Engineers

“When I was three or four years old, I got a new tricycle for my birthday. The next day, I took the bike completely apart. My mother panicked as she could not figure out how to put all these pieces back together – or how to explain this to my grandfather, who bought me the gift. A few hours later my grandfather arrived, only to find a completely reassembled tricycle. There were a few bolts and a washer left over, but it worked perfectly.”

– Sandro Torrieri

A lifetime entrepreneur, Sandro started numerous companies in the Information Technology field. He has been in the IT industry since 1985 and was President and Franchise Owner of Sun Microsystems in the early 1990s. He also founded Invidi Technologies in 1998, where he won a technical Emmy for a piece of software he developed that processed visual effects sequences much faster than existing technology. He has been a Serial Startup Software Entrepreneur since 2005.

In 1995 he founded IDX to fill a gap he saw in the industry. Sandro holds numerous patents in Canada, the United States and Europe.

In his spare time, Sandro enjoys collecting, rebuilding, racing and showing cars.
